Plain old recentchanges now and then is fine.
Iterating through ten
billion possible combinations of result sets for display, edit, history
lists, contribs, and diffs for every page? That's not fine.
True. But I imagine that Recentchanges is nevertheless pretty heavy on
the database. You're also not blocking any other Special pages, such as
Whatlinkshere (though I imagine that the vast majority of links to
Whatlinkshere are through /w/wiki.phtml).
Rather then building yet another set of editing tools
from scratch
I already have. :-)
I know that tools like that exist, but I like to write my own from time
to time simply because I enjoy programming and because I can learn from
it. And because I then know how to use them. ;-)
So, can I still use it then? :-)
Thanks,
