Hi Bence,
Well, the primary aim was for people to learn how to deliver training
effectively and I think we achieved that. Another outcome was that we were
able to use the session to help develop an accredited training and
development programme for later use. There's another session taking place
in October. You can see the details at
http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Train_the_trainer_workshop,_October_2012 The
training company that supported the programme is called Midas Training
Solutions -
http://www.midas-training.co.uk/ - and they were chosen after a
tendering process. 11 people attended out of 17 who provisionally signed
up. Full details are listed on the page that's linked to in the report. The
syllabus is in development and this work is going well.
The events organisation system you refer to is a database rather than a
"system". We use CiviCRM as our customer relationship management database -
the events side of things will be for recording contacts, arranging email
notifications and invitations, recording attendees and so on. We're hoping
the developer can help us get the most out of the system. I understand that
the Swedish chapter has some excellent experience of working with CiviCRM
so they might be good people to speak to if you'd like to know more.
Many thanks,
Stevie

Hi Stevie,
Thank you for this report!
Would you be able to share a bit more about the train the trainers event's
outcomes, and the overall goal of it? (The linked page seems to be written
in a future tense, and I admit, I got a bit confused at times when
"trainer" was used more than 3-4 times in the same sentence... Who were the
external consultants involved in this workshop? How many people did end up
going out of the ones who signed up? What is the status and future plans
with the syllabus that was meant as an outcome?)
And a minor point, your developer would be working among other things on
your "event organisation systems". Would you be able to describe a bit what
systems you use or would like to use, and what kind of experience you have
with them (they are obviously not perfect yet if you need a developer)?
Best regards,
Bence
