I have been informed that someone has set up an account under my
account name on your 'offwiki' website. I presume it's one of the long
term fruitcakes obsessed with my personal life. Please block any
account that claims to be me, unless I email you otherwise.
I am copying to the public list, so that everyone is aware that should
anything defamatory have been written publicly under my name on your
website, I officially wash my hands of it.
By the way, the same goes for the Wikimedia UK website, which has had
some rather stupid systematic abuse recently, which has been deleted
without me seeing it. As I was falsely accused only recently of abuse
over the internet, I would like to reiterate that this crap has
nothing to do with me. I suggest if anyone is harassed by someone
claiming to be me, either ignore it, or if the abuse is criminal in
nature, do not hesitate to report it to the police, along with any IP
addresses or header information you can get hold of.
I would be *delighted* to hear of someone being prosecuted, as I
suspect these are the same people that have harassed me in the past,
and have moved on to systematically attempting to discredit or cause
me damage, by being abusive in ways that may be interpreted to be me.

If anyone reading this is expecting to arrive at the University of
Cambridge this autumn as an undergraduate or postgraduate student, and
would like to be involved with the Wikipedia Society - or indeed has been
lurking at the university so far - this would be a particularly good moment
to let me know offlist.

Hi all,
We've been offered an opportunity to look at running a Wiki Takes event and
possibly also edithathon on site at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - with
the latter possibly targeted at encouraging local donors who want to learn
to edit to come along.
Me and Richard S are keen to make it happen and looking for interest from
volunteers would help organise and run the two different events. This would
be with support from staff and other volunteers (For example, HJ and
Rockdrum have run very successful Wiki Takes events in the past and I hope
would be able to advise on what you need to think about as a start)
Currently we are planning to go on a site visit to see the park and talk to
the management about what they can offer us and whether what we would want
to do meets their expectations and ours.
*I would like to invite anyone available on the afternoon of the 15th July
to join me and Ricahrd there if you are interested in helping organise and
run the events. Travel expenses can be reimbursed. *
Please note that I am certain there are those from further afield who will
be interested in both helping organise, run and/or attend the event but I'm
looking for local volunteers at this stage with a site visit. Hopefully
when we have a better idea of what we/they want to do a wiki event page can
be set up and more detailed planning from everyone wherever they are can
continue.
Thanks all -

Dear all
Just to let you know, the MozFest proposals form is now live at
http://2014.mozillafestival.org/propose/ for October 24-26.
I was considering putting in a proposal for something around "Open Impact",
thinking about open data, charities, and measuring impact (open to
suggestions/support) and similarities/differences in Mozilla/Wikimedia and
others. I'm sure there are plenty of MozFest relevant Wikimedia things to
be proposed! :-)
Piggybacking an email - if you're going to Wikimania by London Midland train
you might want to check the service

Hello everyone,
Wikimedia UK is hosting a media training session this Saturday in the
London office. The training will be delivered by a former BBC radio
reported and presenter and is very interactive.
Due to late cancellations, there are two spaces available. The session
starts promptly at 9.30am (with coffee from 9) and will last until around
5.30.
If you would like to come along, please do email me off list and I will
reserve you a space. First come, first served.
Thanks and regards,
Stevie

Hi All,
Over the last couple of months I've been working on reviewing the
Wikimedian in Residence programme run by Wikimedia UK. Part of which was
informed by the Community survey, which some of you would have participated
in. I will be promoting the report more widely later in July, but it would
be great to hear your early thoughts. Please see the report *here*
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Wikimedian_in_Residence_2014_review>. One
possible space for comments could be here
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Cultural_partnerships/2014_WIR_community_cons…>
.
I would like to get the report printed for Wikimania - if you have any
comments that would require changes of content do let me know by Friday 4th
July.
Otherwise, any broader comments, or further discussion about the programme
itself, would be very welcome.
Kind regards,
Daria
