My money is on someone at Chiltern Railways (I wrongly called them
"Chiltern Trains", earlier) typing "nude woman", "breast" or "penis"
onto the search bar on Commons.
BTW, I've now posted about this at the Commons Village Pump:

Hello everyone,
I thought you might like to know that Wikimedia UK has teamed up with
Cancer Research UK to recruit a Wikimedian in Residence.
The exciting new role will include teaching Cancer Research UK’s scientists
to edit the website as well as researching how cancer patients use the site
to access information and helping to make information on its pages as easy
as possible to understand. They will also support Wikipedians already
editing its cancer science pages.
You can find more details of the role, including how to apply, on our blog
-

Thanks and regards,
Stevie

Can WMUK collaborate with WMDE (and others) on this to push it forward? Obviously a lot of good work has already been done, but perhaps it now needs some long term commitment and leadership to ensure that what has been done is made easily accessible, and to work on filling gaps in functionality (covering all aspects of disability).

A few late places have opened up, for the "Speakerthon" event at the
BBC's Broadcasting House, London, on Saturday:

Do come along, if you'd like to help select and upload audio clips
from BBC archive programmes, and to add them to Wikipedia article.

After the BBC "Speakerthon" on Saturday, we'll be retiring, from 5pm, to the
Yorkshire Grey, 46 Langham Street, near Broadcasting House, to relax
and socialise over a beer or two. John Cummings is gong to invite
participants at his London Zoo editathon to join us.
If any of you would also like to join us, you'd be welcome.

As a smaller community, English Wikinews generally struggles to meet
minimum voter participation requirements, sensibly, imposed by the WMF.
One of our other CheckUsers has recently retired due to other
commitments, leading to Tom Morris suggesting he add 'Deerstalker and
Digital Magnifying-Glass' to his admin Mop 'n' Bucket.
I'm not canvassing on Tom's behalf, but would appreciate if those who
know him would take the time to review the request. Suffrage for
voting on CheckUser rights, due to the nature of the task, is based on
activity across all WMF projects.

Long-standing Wikipedian User:LukeSurl is delivering a 3-hour training
session on "Editing Wikis and Wikipedia" from 9:30 until 12:30 on 5
February 2014, as part of the Personal and Professional Development course
offered to PhD students at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.
Is there anyone willing and able to help him deliver this session?
The group will be approximately 20 PhD students from the sciences and maths
departments, most of which will probably have never have edited a wiki
before. The aim is deliver an introduction to Wikipedia and teach all the
basic elements that a new editor would need to know. The ultimate goal is
to have each student to make a relatively substantial contribution to the
encyclopedia related to their area of research or other interests.
Please email me directly at toni.sant(a)wikimedia.org.uk or signup at
https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/UEA_Wikipedia_Workshop_February_2014#About_th…
Many thanks,
Toni

This paper has been written by Carol Campbell a trustee of Wikimedia UK.
She is very interested in 'getting the ball rolling' on issues around
accessibility on Wikipedia and all other wikis. She is fairly certain that
this is not the first time these issues have been raised but would like to
commit to bringing together people interested in finding answers to some of
the challenges she is raising. Please add your names below and offer any
background or insights you may have. Thanks.

Hello everyone,
1st June is Global Sharing Day. It's essentially a day to celebrate sharing
culture and the "sharing economy". Seems like a really good opportunity to
celebrate the activities of our volunteers. I've made a couple of
suggestions on the Water Cooler about how we may get involved and would
love to hear suggestions from you, too.
