We at Wiki Project Med are working to get Our World in Data (OWID) working
within a mediawiki environment.
1) We have created a mirror of their website on WMF servers
<https://owidm.wmcloud.org/grapher/interventions-ntds-sdgs>. Hopefully this
has allowed us to address security and privacy concerns.
2) We have created an extension
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:OurWorldInDataMirror> that allows
the use of this content within a mediawiki install
3) We have made a bunch of changes to formatting, such as removing the
logo, to make it compliant with WP practice and style. You can see an
example on MDWiki in the infobox here
<https://mdwiki.org/wiki/Neglected_tropical_diseases>.
My question to the movement is are their communities interested in using
this technology? There are about 4,000 of these graphs
<https://owidm.wmcloud.org/charts>. We of course will also need to develop
a framework for translation.

The strings are in the map html file in the form of a json object. You can
see it at the very bottom if you view source. It would be possible to
change this on the fly if an argument were passed to the url. We are
already doing this in batch to cut down on the text displayed and add a
popup.
But the OWID code is for me at least rather opaque in terms of implementing
something directly in the app.
Dear all,
I would like to inform you that Wikimedia Indonesia has been
successfully holding annual general meetings in a hybrid event. On 19
February, our AGM elected a new Chair of the Board of Executive, @Rachmat
Wahidi <rachmat.wahidi(a)wikimedia.or.id>. Rachmat has been involved in
Wikimedia Indonesia since 2014. He has been a very useful and kind-hearted
person for all of us in Wikimedia Indonesia.
Beside the new chair, we elected the new board of trustees as well.
* Ichsan Mochtar,
* Annisa Ayu Maharani,
* Andri Humardhani,
* Hendra Prastiawan, and
* Fachria Marasabessy. (re-elected)
Thanks to our previous Board of Executives (Ivonne Kristiani, Hillun Vilayl
Napis, Thirza Ria Vandari, Djohan Hasibuan) and Board of Trustees (Rinto
Jio, Fachria Marassabessy, Fajarwati).
We hope this new change can bring a more hopeful future for WMID.
I will still be around Wikimedia Indonesia until June 2020, to make sure
the transition is going smoothly. :)
For Affiliates and Chairperson mailinglist's admin, please help to remove
me and add Rachmat for future communication.
Best,
Biyanto Rebin
