What I like about cultural references sections is that they stop the
rest of the article being polluted. They do act as a magnet for
trivial information, but fortunately, from time to time we can just
throw that magnet in the bin, with all the trivial iron filings it has
gathered.
This is one of the real arts in managing Wikipdia: letting people
contribute in such a way that wey can easily discard the least helpful
contributions without offending anyone.
