The community is the only legitimate authority on Wikipedia. The Arbitrary
Committee has no legitimate authority whatsoever.

Much to my surprise, I found an old vote where the community approved
the creation of ArbCom. It was "royal assented" by Jimbo, but with
him effectively removed from his position of arbitrary authority these
days, I wonder if the community could vote to disband ArbCom.
Probably not at that point, but it does seem the ArbCom is working
hard to be unpopular these days.
