The trouble with this approach is what to do with groups that do not
neatly divide into two. For example, it would be bizarre to feature
two of the three Cappadocian Fathers (say, to feature Gregory of
Nazianzus and Basil the Great, but to leave off Gregory of Nyssa).
Featuring one of the three wouldn't be peculiar in the slightest, but
to feature two would be.
This isn't necessarily a huge problem, but it's worth considering
whether presenting things in pairs might have the potential to
mislead.
