If there is no
way to work the facts into the text of the article, it is likely
enough the writer showing off that they knew something or a newbie
thinking this is a fan site. The details are usually irrelevant (cf.
edit war over mention of Abraham Lincoln in [[Charles Darwin]]), and
it improves the quality of the articles to take them out.
Many times, the trivia belongs elsewhere - not deleted. Though often
some rigorous editing will get such a section reading much better.
