I can answer this two ways.. Both are true representations of my
position on this subject.
First the general answer: It's great that we can be prompt and that
people can use us for information on recent events. I've never
suggested we stop that... I only stated that fulfilling that need
simply isn't the purpose of Wikipedia.
and then the 'specific to this case' answer: They can read about it
from the same places *we* did. Many of our articles (esp current
events) are simply sourced from web-available resources.
