I don't think that's what he meant. Choosing an alias in order to
remain anonymous is perfectly acceptable. Even choosing an alias that
causes people to guess wrong about your sex is not a problem.
The problem that many people had with Adam's behavior in the past is
that he created several aliases in order to evade a ban, and in order
to deceive people, rather than merely to hide his true identity.
There's a somewhat subtle point here -- community does not require
true identities, but it does require consistent identities. I don't
really care who anyone here is "in real life" (though I do slightly
prefer to know), but I do care if someone takes on multiple identities
in order to play games.
