When I do a search on Google for "textbook standards" this
is the very first link that comes up:
www.wikibook.org/wiki/Wikibooks:_Textbook_Standards
The only problem is that the page is blank. I thought I had
created a page like that a long time ago .. is there any
chance that it got deleted along the way ? Just weird that
it is first on google and does not even exist.
Anyway recent emails with Sanford are reminding me of the
importance of writing books, that adhere to CA standards so
he can use it to promote the open content model over there
and get some props for our site. We just need one good
example to start.
The CA standards link:
http://www.cde.ca.gov/standards/
Sanford has also spent extensive time investigating grant
opportunities for the site but has not turned up any donors
yet as the site is so different than the way we have been
traditionally viewed education and educational materials.
When we have a poster-child book that adheres to the
standards it may be able to get us some funding.
