Please, when you reply to an email on this list, please
eliminate the "from" email address from the text before you
send it. All of these emails are posted online and little
robotic spiders crawl thru the pages looking very
specifically for emial addresses to use for spam. After a
while of this you start getting more and more and more
spam. Up to now my spam leven with my yahoo email has been
very low. Even tho the archiving software does the service
of slightly altering the format of the email a spider can
probably change it back and harvest it the same.
Am I wrong about this ?

This was on the front page of my local paper this morning:
"When Books Break the Bank"
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/16/nyregion/16BOOK.html?pagewanted=all&posit…
An article about outrageous textbook prices and the things
that students are doing to avoid paying them. (No mention
of our site unfortunately).
I saw old NYT articles on Sept 11 archived on the main
wikipedia .. could we do that with this one, put the text
on Wikibooks ?

Oh yeah, would it be a good idea to submit the NYT story to
Slashdot with a link to our site and describing what we are
doing to improve the situation ?

Hello.
There's a link on the left called "Edit this page". You can use it
to delete the link. :-) (I just did so.)
The entire Wikipedia is a WikiWiki, meaning anyone can edit any page.
There are a whole bunch of broken links around the Wikipedia, and they
get cleaned out as people visit them.
This is the mailing list for textbook.wikipedia.org, the Wikibooks
project. The main Wikipedia mailing list is wikipedia-l(a)wikipedia.org.

I just set this list to only accept email from subscribed list members -
everything else will now be held indefinitely until a list admin accepts or
rejects the message.
Sorry for the inconvenience folks - I was on holiday.

Whats this internet seer thing ? Did someone sign up for it
?
-Karl
BTW Did anyone see the new feature on Google that does news
article tracking ? I am tracking the term "Wikipedia" and
anytime it comes up as a term in any of the news articles
that Google indexes it sends me a link to my email. Its
free and the signup was the least painful I have ever seen
for an internet service.
Here is a link it just sent me:
