Greetings Martin,
where do I
find infos for "Wikipedia Mobile"?
Currently the Wikipedia iOS application is holding while we draft up
some new ideas on feature development. We've been actively discussing
them here and would love to get your thoughts
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Projects/App_Features_%26_Roadmap
Thanks, that's interesting.
It would help to name
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/mobile-l - and I don't
understand the virtual limitation of access since anyone my subscribe to
the list and then read the archives.
Maybe you know
the answers, but where's their documentation how to find it?
A great starting point for all of our active mobile projects can be
found here:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Projects
I feel this should be named on
http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Mobile_iPhone - while I feel that
this page is inappropriate anyway (see name confusion).
Let me know if you have any move questions.
My own wishes would be out of place, I'm afraid:
* I'd like the option to use it both offline and online, including a
download option to geht a dump update when desired.
* The geolocation is a very nice starting point, but I do see the need
for a much more simple approach to find other points, either from "what
links here" or from categories.
The feature to show entries close to the current location could be most
interesting. But it does show very little info only. First I thought
that coordinates would be missing - but whenever I checked, the
wikipedia entries had those entries.
No need to add them - even if I knew how to do that in Wikipedia Mobile.
The wikipedia layer over google maps does show all these entries - in
comparison these where 3 WM entries and 82 layer entries in my town here.
Thanks,
Martin
