Ah! Now you're making sense; it was never clear to me what the

Now we are trying to set up this same sort of
indented
structure using the MediaWiki:Sidebar page. All is well except there
is apparently no ability to indent the list of sidebar items. If you
try they just flush left. Not sure if this is a bug or an attempt to
stretch a new capability beyond it's limits. Probably the latter.
Yes, it's the latter - the MediaWiki:sidebar code interprets the
bulletting markup specially, so that you can create separate headings
with their own box of links, so it's not surprising that it doesn't
also work for "normal" indentation.
BTW, is there a page somewhere that explains how this
(and other new
stuff in 1.5) is SUPPOSED to work?
There *should* be documentation somewhere on meta, but... well, there
may not be... cf
