You could hack away at the scripts to remove the requirement for the
command line execution, and to change the variable usage from
parameters to $_GET values. Personally, I recommend that if you do do
this, you only upload the maintenance directory when needed and delete
it when it's finished with; otherwise, any old Tom, Dick or Harry can
run maintenance on your wiki.
