1. The toolbox is populated depending upon the context. "Upload file" is not shown until file uploads are enabled, for instance. You won't see "user contributions" when not viewing a user or user talk page. 2. (Chuckling) Just solved this for another user. Log on as an administrator on your wiki and go to MediaWiki:Nogomatch. Replace what's there with this text: No page with '''[[$1|this exact title]]''' exists, trying full text search. This will add a message to the top of the search window when the page can't be found, allowing users to click on the link to create the page. 3. This behaviour is by design; that link is the link used to *get* to edit mode. What exactly was the problem here? 4. Have you tried another browser? I have a feeling certain bits of wikimarkup are ignored on the system messages, as many require simpler formatting.
