I get the *Failed to parse (Missing texvc executable; please see math/README

I have texvc turned on in LocalSettings, the mediawiki installer seems to
have created all of the files, but I can't get the texvc to do anything.
texvc is a compiled program; if you don't compile it the executable is
missing and it cannot be run.
When I try to execute it at the command line, the
system doesn't recognize
texvc ... it returns an invalid arguement message. The make, gmake and
makefile commands don't do anything either. The systems admin says that I
should find a compiled version and try that.
Unfortunately "don't do anything" is hard to diagnose. :) You'll need
to
provide the actual error messages for us to do more than make a general
guess about what your problem could be.
Unfortunately, I know very little about UNIX, so I
don't understand the
notes about Ocaml and other files.
Ocaml (objective caml) is the programming language texvc is written in.
To compile texvc you must first install the ocaml compiler.
If you run the server yourself, please refer to your operating system's
documentation on installing optional software packages, or find and
install the appropriate package yourself from
http://caml.inria.fr/ocaml/ (follow the appropriate directions there).
If your server is a Linux system running on some sort of x86 processor,
you may be able to use the precompiled version which we provide instead
of compiling it yourself:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wikipedia/texvc-linux-x86-20050202.tar.g…
Extract the archive and put the 'texvc' program into the math
subdirectory in your MediaWiki installation.
