Hello,
I have done some searching and cannot find whether or not there is a
bibliography snapin or module for mediawiki.
There isn't to my knowledge.
I'm the webmaster of
multiverse.org <http://multiverse.org> a site dedicated to Michael Moorcock,
and we have a bibliography project coalescing. Our greatest desire is to be
able to sort on various bibliographic fields.
You could write a template, but that would not guarantee structured
data. Magnus Manske told me that there is a way of splitting the
editpane into different fields by tweaking the php code - he however
didn't recommend doing that (you could ask him if you want to risk
it). If it has to be within you wiki the best thing to do is wait for
wikidata

If the Publications in your Bibliograhy are in a public library and
have an ISBN code you could use
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:ISBN_links
I used external solutions: first BibOrb
http://biborb.glymn.net/doku.php and then switched to
http://www.citeulike.org/ and am very happy with that solution.
Cheers Gustav
