Hi, I'm having some problems with my wiki installation. I can't explain what happens but check out http://www.wyger.nl/usr/antichrist/ and press set up the wiki. What can I do about that? Also where can I download language packs? THX, Bram Haegeman

New subject: [Mediawiki-l] wikimedia help

First up, looks like your web host has disabled changing a configuration directive MediaWiki *would like* to change. Go into /config/index.php, look for lines starting with "ini_set(" and add a // in front of them. Then go back and see if you get any *additional* errors. Secondly, the software can't find a file it needs. Check that you uploaded everything from the tarball or CVS export; however you got the software. External links need to be added in a different manner; the actual URL needs to go into a MediaWiki: page, e.g. MediaWiki:Mysite-url, which is then pointed to by the MediaWiki:Sidebar page. That page comes up blank. I'm trying to figure out how to add a mailto: link labeled "Contact us" in the Sidebar. Thanks Al Degutis

That should have read http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Navigation_bar

I'm trying to figure out how to add a mailto: link labeled "Contact us" in the Sidebar.

Add a line in the page MediaWiki:Sidebar on your wiki such as: ** contact-address|Contact us and create a page MediaWiki:Contact-address with content such as: mailto:wikimaster@example.com (There are slight variations you could use, but this should work, I think) -- Rowan Collins BSc [IMSoP]

That should have read http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Navigation_bar

This page says to search for the Sidebar page, but when I do so I come up with nothing in the MediaWiki or any other namespace. Where is this page?
