I tried to install MediaWiki 1.16.0 on a web server (one.com) with 5.3.3
and got the following problem:
Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in
languages/Language.php on line 183
Is there any known incompatibilities with 5.3.3 for MW 1.16?
Best Regards

DPL's gallery mode (mode = gallery) seems to just display a bulleted list on my wiki. Is this just an older version issue (DPL was installed in June and seems to be the same as the snapshot )? Or maybe there is some sort of "switch" I have to turn on?
This is the code I'm using:
<DynamicPageList>
category = Screenshot of the Day
namespace = File
mode = gallery
</DynamicPageList>
Hi,
On my french wiki i have the following tagline system message :
{{#if:{{NAMESPACE}}||« {{PAGENAME}} » défini et expliqué aux enfants
par les enfants.}}
(which means : "[Name of article]] defined and explained to children
by children")
Ok, this is fine. But the problem is that every single quote (') is
converted to '
Example : http://fr.wikimini.org/wiki/Armel_le_Cl%C3%A9ac%27h
I've noticed this problem on other french wikis.
Any idea or maybe a solution ?
Thank you for your help
Laurent
Hello,
I have upgraded my test wiki to Mediawiki 1.16.0, and the install completed without any issues. However, I get a error when trying to access the page. There isn't any errors in any of the log files.
This is what is displayed on the web page:
MediaWiki internal error.
Exception caught inside exception handler
This is what the log file shows:
[01/Oct/2010:10:31:04 -0300] "GET /wiki/index.php/Main_Page HTTP/1.1" 200 104 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8"
Current setup:
--------------
MediaWiki<http://www.mediawiki.org/>: 1.11.0
PHP<http://www.php.net/>: 5.1.6 (apache2handler)
MySQL<http://www.mysql.com/>: 5.0.77
Thank You.
I want to comment out couple of lines of code in the file
/var/lib/mediawiki/includes/specialupload.php file. Here are the lines:
//if( $this->detectScript ( $tmpfile, $mime, $extension ) ) {
// return new WikiErrorMsg( 'uploadscripted' );
//}
Now I know that it is not a good idea to modify the core mediawiki files.
What is the correct way to do this then?
I sent this out about a week ago, but I'm still looking for a response.
Is there a way I can keep uploaded images hidden from certain usergroups?
I have created a namespace on my wiki that is viewable only to certain usergroups. The goal of this namespace is to have a place to create articles, so that I can time their release at which time I move the pages to the main namespace.
So far this works well, except with images, which are of course in the special File namespace. Perhaps if there was an extension that allowed me to set the permissions of images.
Hi there,
I am using Lucene-Search 2.1/MWSearch for my MediaWiki 1.15.1.
It's working fine, but it can't search any Japanese characters.
I have tried (language,ja) in the lsearch-global.conf file, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any idea would be appreciated,
Ross

Hello there, I would like to use MW as a Website so my question is if it is
possible (and how) to disable the version / history button on the
installation.
