Dear list members,
MediaWiki 1.15.0 is expected to be released early next week (currently
MediaWiki 1.15 rc1 is available for download). This means that there is
little time left to complete the translations for this release. All willing
to contribute to the MediaWiki localisation are urged to join the
localisation effort at translatewiki.net. Below you will find a few helpful
links. Your help is very much appreciated.
I will be updating the 1.15 branch Sunday evening (GMT) for the last time
before the 1.15.0 release.
Kind regards,
Siebrand Mazeland

Hi, I am wondering why I keep getting <meta name="robots"
content="noindex,nofollow" />
My robots.txt file says:
User-agent: *
Allow: /
Disallow: /Help
Disallow: /MediaWiki
Disallow: /Template
Disallow: /skins/
Disallow: /Special:Search
Disallow: /Category
Allow: /MediaWiki:Monobook
Allow: /MediaWiki:Common
I added the last two lines thinking that it is because I disallow
/MediaWiki but it didn't work either.

Mediawiki is technically a specialized web application server -
sitting between the raw web server and a SQL database on the back end
which handles the long term storage issues.
There are three things which have to be running:
1. Web servers + Mediawiki software - trivially parallelizable, plus a
web load balancer on the front end.
2. SQL server(s) - MySQL is easily clusterable
3. Media storage - Easily replicatable or externalized (NFS mounts,
optionally from clustered NFS server)
What degree of HA do you desire? Simple avoidance of single failure
points? Multiple failure tolerance?
You can go all the way from "two web/Mediawiki servers and separate
MySQL / NFS server on back end" to a redundant network,
clustered-everything, geographically distributed in case of single
datacenter / internet failure tolerant installation. The cost
multiplier for the first is very little - for the latter is a whole
lot.

I would like use Clean Urls.
In my main folder directory i have installed wordpress. Mediawiki in w/.
My webhosting packet works with Ubuntu.
My .htaccess looks like this:
*
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^wiki/(.*)$ /w/index.php?title=$1 [PT,L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^wiki/*$ /w/index.php [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^/*$ /w/index.php [L,QSA]*
and my LocalSettings.php
*$wgScriptPath = "/w";
$wgArticlePath = "/wiki/$1";
$wgUsePathInfo = true; *
Mediawiki works only when i put the .htaccess in the home wordpress folder
and then
Wordpress does not work anymoren. The URL structur should look like this
http://www.domain.com/ # direct to Wordpress
http://www.domain.com/hauptverzeichnis # direct to mediawiki
Is this possible and if so how?
Thanks in advance!
