When I load my wiki, the paragraphs are numbered, without being logged
in, in other words as an anonymous visitor. Then I changed the option:
$wgDefaultUserOptions['numberheadings'] = 0;
Ok, now the numbering of the paragraphs are gone. But when I log in with
my username, the paragraphs are numbered again. How can I change this
option for all users so that is off/zero.
Thanks,

Hi Teammates,
I would like to export a particular wiki page, along with all of it's
children (other wiki pages
that it references).
Is there an automatic utility to help do this (without figuring out what
each page I need is called
myself ? ) ?
thx,
Lori

[I am not sure if this is the correct place to pose this question, but I
didn't see anything else in either the LiquidThreads README or
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LiquidThreads.]
Dear all,
We would like to automatically post messages to user talk pages, using a
bot. We have LiquidThreads installed. Has this been done? The LQT model
does not seem to fit the Python Wikipedia Framework or Mediawiki API models.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks,
Reid
I have just created a new namespace and I need to put some specific wiki
markup within it, for all instances. What is the best way to go about this?
I have looked into extensions for preloading, etc but I wanted to see what
was working for others. I appreciate any and all input.
Hello
I use Image-Magick to convert images. If I try to convert a image which contains special chars in the filename I get this error:
Unable to open file (/var/www/wiki/images/4/46/Sper_Tst.png)
The mediawiki filename is "Süper Töst.png". In the wikipedia-project it works with filenames containing umlauts or other special chars.
How have they solved this problem, or what is your solution?
I look forward to hearing from you.

a. May I conclude that you can't be sure "nice" is on your systemin that case the line should be deleted, and all of its's argument as wellHow should the command look like in that case?b. Or that the line is wrong?Just changing it to /bin/nice would be enoughc. Or that the line is dependent of your system? And, if the last is true:How should anyone be able to check that?Rein
Hello,
I'm currently running version 1.13 on a site that's on shared hosting (I
lack root/shell access). I've read through the Upgrade guide, but I'm unsure
of what the best alternative method is.
Thanks for the help.

Hello List,
I've read through the MediaWiki WikiFamily article a couple of times but I'm
having trouble applying it to my own setup.
I currently run about 4 wikis that I would like to share the MediaWiki
install code between. Each Wiki is currently contained in its own folder,
runs under its own domain name and has its own database.
Would checking out the latest version of MediaWiki from SVN then replacing
each of the folders in the base MediaWiki install (excluding the Images
folder) with symlinks be enough? What do I do about some of the rogue php
files that living the root of the MediaWiki folder? (img_auth.php,
StartProfiler.php) etc? Symlink those as well?
I want to get my setup to a stage that updating all the mediawiki installs
only requires me to run an SVN update in one place.
