They can be uploaded with a bot. pywikipedia is usually the bot choice.

I'm sure there's some configuration/extension (enotif?) allowing you to
get an email of your watched pages.

Wikis don't work in an accept way. Everything is accepted and then
reverted if undesired.

Hallo together!
I am new to the administration of mediawiki. A user asked me, if it is
possible to show thumbnail pictures in the printable version of a document
in full size.
Is this somehow posisble? If yes, how do I realize it?

Hi all,
I found the info on and got adsense working. I was wondering if also there
is a way
to use something like phpadsnew to rotate banners other then adsense.
Hello the wikiworld!
Just new so I am not sure this is an old issue, but I did not find
response anywhere. I have a few hundred pages I daily update on my PC
from different sources. I can produce them in any format (including
wikiedit). I would like to know if I can FTP them in some way and to
have them loaded as updates of the eve's version. The content of
these pages is intrinsic to the wikisite I build, so I would need
them to display and be supported the same.
I would also like to know if there is an automated way to mail me a
diff of the pages that can have been updated by readers. This would
permit me to get the updates and validate them before really
accepting them in the content?
Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Morning List :)
Two things I can't seem to find to adjust on the left side nav.
1) I would like to modify the inside of the seachbox to add a Google logo.
2) I would like to place a adsense banner below the toolbox
Thxs!
I recentlyhave this problem develop. I was doing some editing and at
some point I decided to open the main page of my wiki to my complete
astonishment all the color blocks was gone and uopn looking ate the
source code I discovered that every equal sign = = = in the page had
been replace with \'\'\'\' I checked several pages and it is consistant
through out the entire wiki site. Anyone know what to do??
Second issue is I believe this might a corrupt table in the database.
Upon looking for the saved content I can not locate where the actual
content is stored. The database seems OK but I wanted to look at some of
the pages in a text viewer outside the wiki system. I don't know where
Mediawiki is storing the content. Any help please.
Thanks!
Frosty
BTW if you want to take a look the wiki is http://www.physicswiki.net

Hey all you Wikimedians and MediaWikians --
We're now hiring for a software development position at our new San
Francisco office. This is an entry-level position, but existing
experience with MediaWiki or other LAMP-style development will be a big
help.
Since we're still a small office, the new guy will also need to help
people in the office with basic IT issues; we have a mixed environment
with Mac, Linux, and Windows machines, and varying degrees of tech-savvy.
We're planning to open up a couple more dev positions over the coming
months as budget allows; those will not necessarily be locked to the
California office, but for now we need someone who can be on-site every
day to lend a hand.
Fuller job description at:
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Job_openings/Software_Developer_/_IT_Su…
Drop me a mail (offlist!) if you're interested, or pass it on if you
know someone who will be; we'll be scheduling interviews in the next few
weeks.
(And yes, we will be posting the position on Craigslist as well.)

Dear List Members,
I'm new to this list and new to the wiki admin stuff. I need to start a
wiki for my school. I'm not a programmer, but I will learn anything I a
need to learn.
I need it for both the public use and intra-organizational use of the
district I teach in, so some things will require a user log-in and others
won't.
I have noticed there are several places to download wiki from, but I need to
know what would be the best package to download that would be the easiest
for me to set up with minimal programming requirements.
Any URLs and advice you can offer a newbie would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Cindy
For anyone running MediaWiki and Apache on Windows: are you seeing lots
of page faults in the httpd.exe process? Like, hundreds of millions?
(I've already asked this question in the Apache lists and gotten no
response.) To see them, run Task Manager and in the View menu, choose
to view "Page Faults".
With MediaWiki 1.11.0 and Apache 2.2 running on Windows 2003 Server,
every web page hit generates 3000 page faults or more; Is this normal?
If not, any suggestions for which settings to tweak first?
The httpd.conf file hasn't been changed much from the default. I'll be
happy to post it if that helps.
There is plenty of RAM (2 gigabytes, only 50% used). It's a VMware
virtual machine if that matters.
