Anybody know if it's possible to see a list of pages that contain no
internal links. I looked through the special pages and couldn't see
anything that would provide that.
Hello,
there seems to be a rather big difference between the article count on
the Special:Allpages and Special:Statistics pages. I observed something
like more than 50 pages on Special:Allpages but Special:Statistics states
only an article count of 29 pages. As the articles shown on
Special:Allpages are actually there, I think the count given on
Special:Statistics seems to be (terribly) wrong. Is there a way to let
Special:Statistics show the correct article count?

Hi,
I'd like to monitor the changes in a wiki automatically by a (shell/mysql)
script which is run periodically for example. Is there an easy way to
get statistics like
number of articles
number of registered users
number of read accesses on article pages
number of edits
directly from the mysql database?

After adding the four required familytree templates as described at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Familytree I now have some odd
behavior on my WHOLE Wiki in that EVERY page is centered. I don't
understand how that can happen as I didn't change the CSS file in any
way. How can I fix this problem?
My understanding of templates is that they are only in effect when
included on a particular page. Somehow these templates have altered
the functioning of all pages.

We have just downloaded and installed the Wiki. I have to say you guys
have done a brilliant job. Not only in the SW but in the installation
process. Quite often that is where sw falls down.
I am sure that I read somewhere there is a way to have the documentation
all localized. I have searched but can not find the info now.
Could someone please point me to the right location.
Thanks so much

Hi,
I'm trying to implement some info boxes on my wiki, however i'm experienceing a
number of problems when trying to use IF statements. Basically i only want a
field to be displayed if there is a value for it.
If i use the following code:
|- style="vertical-align: top;"
|'''Postcode'''||{{{postcode}}}
and don't enter a value for postcode then the Postcode still displays, however if
I use this code:
|- style="vertical-align: top;"
|'''Postcode'''|{{{postcode}}}
then only the values are posted without the Postcode description.
I have looked at documentation/examples of using IF's on mediawiki, however I
just get a number of errors when using {{#if: does anyone have any ideas? Or easy
fixes? Am i missing an important template?
Cheers
Tom
Does anyone know if the wikidb pages table's "pageid" value is available as a global php variable throughout the page rendering process. If so, I could use it in the stylesheet. right!? anyone?
Gunter asked me:

That idea did occur to me, but that solution puts too much responsibility on the part of the authors to care about the database side of the system. The system must take care of itself in terms of a unique identifier. I'm looking to exploit the wikidb databases primary key to provide the users with "new" and unique IDs to ensure that a 1:1 correspondance will exists with the page and a referenced item in the real world.
And special thanks to Rob for pointing out the following:

Bingo! thanks!
I been reading this list long enough, Rob, to know that your one of the heavy hitters. Can you provide some insight into the question above?
Continued thanks to all,

What's the right way to disable "nofollow" in MediaWiki? Grep for
"setRobotpolicy( 'noindex, nofollow' )" in all the /include files and
change them one by one?
Problem: Our intranet spider, a Google Mini search appliance, randomly
sees "nofollow" directives for pages in MediaWiki 1.9.3 and reports:
Excluded: On page with robots nofollow meta tag.
In repeated spiderings, the same page might get excluded or not,
seemingly randomly. Out of 10 spiderings of a particular page, say, 6
of them will fail with this error. Maybe the same link appears with and
without "nofollow" on different wiki pages (say, articles vs. category
pages), and whichever one the spider hits, it obeys?
Thanks,
DanB
Which extensions does the current Wikipedia setup use, if any? My impression is that Mediawiki as installed lacks some functionality necessary to allow some templates with nested code to function.

Hi,
How can I put a template (or any other text) on each MW page? I know there
is a Mediawiki:Sitenotice that renders the text on each page. However I'm
using http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MenuTabs in the template and it's
rendered inproperly in some cases.
That's why I'd like to replace it with a template put on each wikipage.
thx
Aretai
