I'm working over "WYSIWYM editor for MediaWiki" project.
The idea is to integrate FCKeditor, InstaView and Wikificator.
I've managed to develop dinamic (client-side, no _USE_EDITOR_) switching
between standart wikitext editing and visual FCK-based editing.
First release comming soon...

Hi,
we run three wikis (different languages) on one server with configured
interwiki links. Additionally there is one wiki-commons for them all.
Q.:
Is it possible to include articles or templates in wiki-commons which
are residing in the article/template name space of the three "language
wikis"?

I have a user that I would like to have some, but not all, of the
same rights of sysop. I've created a new user group ... let's say
"editor". I'm also using a "userCanHook" function to limit certain
functions for users who are not sysop. However, I'd like to allow
"editor" some of the functions which are allowed sysops.
If I add a user to "editor" and to "sysop" then disallow "editor"
from certain of the functions using $wgGroupPermissions will I be
able to disallow those sysop functions from "editor"?
Will "editor" override "sysop" or will "sysop" override "editor"?
Does it depend upon which is listed first in LocalSettings.php?

Hello. Trying to find out what happens if 2 users to to edit the same
article/section at the same time? Does the 2nd user get a "read only"
access-type message indicating the article is locked for editing by another
user? Or will one user's edits overwrite those of the second user?
Thanks,

Hi,
I am sorry for the lame question, but i've searched everywhere and
couldn't find the information i need.
How do i create a new box on the left (like the navigation one) ?
Any help would be apreciated.
Warm Regards,
Mário Gamito
I am trying to show different images, dependent on some conditions:
Scenario 1: if the pagename is the same as a given pagename,
image_1.gif is shown.
Scenario 2: if the pagename is not the same as the given pagename, the
existence of the given pagename is checked:
Scenario 2a: if the given pagename exists, image_2a.gif is shown.
Scenario 2b: if the given pagename does not exist,
image_2b.gif is shown.
So i wrote:

The problem is that image_1.gif does not appear, even if
NAMESPACE:PAGENAME has the same value as
NAMESPACE:BASEPAGENAME/subpage (e.g. image_2a.gif appears then
instead because the page exists). Does the parserfunction "ifeq"
compares the values litterally without interpreting the magicwords? I
don't think there is any mistake in the above wiki-code because when i
substitute "NAMESPACE:PAGENAME" by "a" and
"NAMESPACE:BASEPAGENAME/subpage" by "a", so that the
comparison is "a=a" (which is true) the image_1.gif is correctly
displayed.
Does anyone know whether the magicwords in the parserfunction "ifeq"
are recognized and what the cause of the problem is? If this
parserfunction does not interpret magic words, is there another
solution to display image_1.gif in case the pagename is the same as a
given pagename?
Thanks in advance!
B.

Maybe this is a little bit too simplistic, but by holding down the
ctrl-key while clicking, you get the link opened in a new tab, by
holding down the shift-key while clicking, you get the link opened in
a new browserwindow (this is at least the case in firefox-browsers).
For IE 6, holding down the ctrl-or shift-key opens the link in a new
browserwindow.
Hope this helps,

Hi - I have to move our wiki to a machine where the
MySQL database is running on port 3307.
The standard port is 3306.
How to I set the port to be 3307?

Hey all,
This is the reverse of one of the most popular questions on here--
I like the MW user table/authentication system -- and was wondering if it
would be possible to use it as with an external system? I want to build an
intranet AROUND mediawiki ... or something like that. I figure since I've
already got a large userbase created in MW, I should just use that and go
from there.
Most people on here ask if they can use an external auth system to log in to
MW -- I want the reverse :-)
Thoughts appreciated. Direct me to a MW meta page if there's something
useful floating around
