We've enabled email notification on our intranet wiki. In my preferences, I have "Send me an email also for minor edits of pages" disabled but our MediaWiki 1.5.6 system is still sending me email when someone makes a minor edit. The page history shows the edit is a minor edit and the email contains
Editor's summary: (comment...) This is a minor edit
UserMailer.php contains
...
&& (!$minorEdit || ($wgEnotifMinorEdits && $watchingUser->getOption('enotifminoredits') ) )
which looks correct.
I can add
$wgEnotifMinorEdits = false; # UPO; false: "minor edits" on pages do not trigger notification mails.
to LocalSettings.php but I'd rather give users the option to set this themselves.
Anyone have a fix for this so that my preferences are honored?
I'm using the standard MW 1.5.6; I did not download/install ENotif separately.

You should get a red link on the results page which says, "create this
article" or similar. It links to the page to create/edit that page.
[/snip]
It doesn't do that. I am sure it is a configuration issue of some sort.
I type something into the search box and click 'Go'. I get a search results
page, but not a way to add a page. Am I missing something here? Did I
incorrectly configure my wiki?
Thanks!

I am able to add new pages through the URL, though the docs aren't specific
about the method.
Hello,
In order to adapt the wiki layout to the one used on our site, I have
hardly modified the main.css of the monobook skin. With standard
*Fixes.css and a long work, I have been able to make wiki appear as the
main site. On most browsers it works fine but not with Opera 8.
Are there some known "fixes" also for Opera 8?
Thanks a lot,
Gabriele

Hi Folks:
I've searched high and low through the documentation and FAQ for what
must be a simple thing to do. I would like to create a global table
of contents or index, much like the one that is auto-generated at the
top of a page with multiple sections, except one that would have a
link to every wiki page I have created (and hopefully permit
organizing it). Is there a way to do this? Please accept my
apologies if I have just missed the obvious.
Thanks.

Do you need something more complex than [[Special:Allpages]]?
When I do a site, I put Special:Allpages right on the left-side menu,
with the text "Index".
If you need to "organize it," perhaps hacking a copy of
SpecialAllpages.php would work for you.

Hi --
Installed MediaWiki from the ports tree on OpenBSD ... when I hit
the MediaWiki config page, it fails to connect to mysql with the
message: "MySQL error 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server
through socket /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock" However, MySQL is indeed
running on that socket:

Protocol version: 10
Connection: Localhost via UNIX socket
Client characterset: latin1
Server characterset: latin1
UNIX socket: /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock

Any tips?

Hello,
I searched the first couple of years of this mailing list but did not
see an answer for this.
Is it possible to skin two sections of the the same site differently?
If so, could someone point me in the right direction to find out more
about this?
TIA for your help,
