Mr. Cameron -
Sorry to bother you, but I have been trying to implement this change in
my 1.5b4 install in and attempt to join our htaccess and wiki logins.
I am getting hung up by the fact that UserUpdate doesn't seem to exist
in 1.5. Do you know what I might need to change?
I know that this is out of the blue, but I hope it is a simple thing for
you, and that you don't mind my presumtion too much.

Hi
I have a requirement of using mediawiki as a web interface for our
product details like:
Overview
FAQ
Examples &
Cookbook
of each section of our product.
I need to have to search from a html search page to mywiki site
This search page will be having a google like interface.
Ie There will be a search bar with search button and optional
radio buttons of FAQ,Examples,Cookbook . Purpose is
if I search some key words with FAQ radio button on ,it should give
me all the FAQ entries with that keyword.
1)Can some body give some points on how to achieve this ?
I made the sections as below in each link page,
==overview==
==FAQ==
==EXAMPLES==
==COOKBOOK==
2)Is there any better approach or any better ways ?
Thanks
Sandeep
Hello,
I had mediawiki 1.4.6 installed on a machine which just had the
mediawiki directory hanging off the webserver documentroot. I moved
this to a production server and onto a vhost and changed my
LocalSettings.php over, but all my links are still broken and I'm not
sure why.
I copied the database as per http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/
How_to_move_a_MediaWiki_Database without issue. I can get to the
main page of my installation, no problem but whenever I try to click
on any of the links which were copied with the database from the old
server, the URL has /mediawiki in it, even though LocalSettings.php
has: $wgScriptPath = "";. I'm somewhat stumped. From what
I've read, it should be as easy as making sure the $wgScriptPath
variable is set correctly, but I may be horribly wrong and there may
be something else quite involved that I'm missing.
Any ideas?
I noticed that when trying to find articles using the search form I dont
always find what I am looking for.
for example:
if I search for the word info it will find articles with info and
information
however if I search for transact I dont find articles with transaction
in it.
Kinda wierd ..
also is there any extension where the search results will display a
"Did you mean: */transaction/*
<http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=transaction&spell=1>" similar to
google?
Hi,
how can I setup a true fulltext index?
I have a wiki installed in the intranet. A search example.
When ich search for 'house' I want to find also all articles with the
wordfragement house. Not only 'USED house' also words like houseWIFE
or WAREhouse or WAREhouseMEN. What must I install respectivly
configure?
Regards
Robert
I understand that I can edit MediaWiki:monobook.css to add in
stylesheet type stuff.
Reading the w3 stuff:
http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/selector.html#class-html
I see that I can do:
H1.pastoral { color: green } /* H1 elements with class~=pastoral */
<H1>Not green</H1>
<H1 class="pastoral">Very green</H1>
However, this does not seem to do anything.
Playing around with my cache doesn't seem to influence anything. Is
there another caching mechanism I need to know about? Some sort of
maintenance script or something?
I have a question for the experts on this list.
I have an otherwise rather static page (front page) on which I have a
link that is defined as:
[[{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTDAY}} {{CURRENTYEAR}}]]
I have noticed that this link only gets updated when I actually modify
the page. Is there another way to get the page to update (at the start
of each day, so special calls like adding a '?refresh_now' to the URL
are ok).

Hi Folks!
Is there a way to indentify, what page is currently displayed? So in
this way i could make a if/else one to say, that a special thing should
done, when "Mainpage" is displayed.
Thanks for any answers!
Is there a safe way to delete all old revisions for all pages? I
understand that there's some database hackery which I could do, but I
wanted to check if there was either a script or some assurance that
said database hackery was somewhat safe.
1.5b4 here..
