Hello,
The cur_timestamp keeps the date of the last change but there isn't any
field to keep the date of creation of a page (or am I wrong ?).
Could it be possible to add a field with the creation date, enabling us
to query between two dates (for now, we can use the ID field for
sorting, but that can't tell us when it was created)
Thanks for any ideas or critics
François
For almost a week now I have not made the ArticleSave hook works. Has
anyone done this before? Please help!!!
Problem: I would like to insert into the ArticleSave hook a simple php
function (that does nothing but returns true) as following:
function myFunction() {
return true;
}
Background:
I need to collect and compile some statistics of all posts and display
them to a special page. The most natural way is when the Save Page
button is hit, a php function (myFunction) will do the work and after
that resume back to saving of the current page as normal. I have posted
this problem here twice before, Erik Moeller has helped me to analyze
the problem and guided me to read /docs/hooks.doc. I understand (I think
so.) the concept, but have not been able to implemented. The above
problem is the most reduced version of what I would like to do. I need
to be over that hump before I can do anything else. Please help by
giving me a step by step instructions. Please!!!

So I am beginning to understand. Thank you for helping clarify.

I'm not unhappy with TWiki, I just enjoy playing with new things. I
find the act of learning a new piece of software to be rewarding
personally and professionally and I have the flexibility to choose
whatever software I want for my site.

That I can do. I'm not sure if my web host will let me use different
hostnames but, assuming that they do, where can I find some
documentation on configuring LocalSettings.php for multiple databases?
I just scanned the TOCs for all ostensibly relevant sections in the UG
and didn't find anything.
Thanks again,

Hi, all,
I've been maintaining a small, personal Wiki site (using TWiki) for a
couple of years now and would like to migrate my content over to
MediaWiki. My primary problem right now is figuring out how to keep
several unrelated topics on one site insulated from each other.
I've throroughly read the user guide's section on organization and still
cannot find out how I can insulate my various topics from each other.
Namespaces appear to be the beginning of what I'm looking for, as they
help organize content. However, I want to be sure that if someone is
using a page in one namespace and they create a new link that it will be
created in the same namespace.
>From what I've read in the documentation, this isn't possible. Unless I
enforce that all of my editors must qualify their links with their
namespace's name--which is an unreasonable policy for my site--links to
unqualified pages will create documents in the global namespace, right?
Ideally, I wish that new, unqualified links in a page in a given
namespace would create pages in that same namespace. My understanding
is that this is not how things work today, though.
How can I have one content group grow in a manner that in no way
interacts with another? (For those of you that know TWiki, they call
this organization component a "web".) Do I have to duplicate the
directory structure and make different SQL DBs for each?
Thanks!
Scott
I have a fairly default install of 1.4rc1 at
http://www.wikigaming.com/ that I am getting a syntax error from on IE
6/Win. Specifically it states that there is a syntax error on line
14, char 1 on every page. Looking at the source, I notice that there
are 10 blank lines before the !DOCTYPE tag, and that line 14 is the
first meta tag (Content-Type). This occurs on every page generated by
mediawiki (including special pages, and other generated content), but
I don't have this problem with other pages on the site, so my guess is
that it is related to index.php or OutputPage. Has anyone had any
experience with this before? or know what may be causing it? or even
if the blank lines would have anything to do with the syntax error
from IE?
Thanks in advance!

Take back the web - Get Firefox!
Hello, I just installed WikiMedia 1.3.11
is there a way to require someone to login before they are allowed to edit
any of the pages?
thanks :)

I would recommend that you enable logging on sqld to
see what transactions are having trouble and why.
The install appears to failing while assign user permissions
in the database.

I have just tried to install MediaWiki 1.3.11 on a virgin Fedora Core 3
box. It took me a while to figure out that I had to disable SELinux to
get the config directory to be fully writable, so it might be documenting
that for other users?
Anyway my problem is that MediaWiki does not get all the way through its
installation script and create the LocalSettings.php file. MySQL is
working and the DB looks fine if I examine it with phpMyAdmin. Any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
PHP's memory_limit is 24M. If this is too low, installation may fail! Have
zlib support; enabling output compression.
Found ImageMagick: /usr/bin/convert; image thumbnailing will be enabled if
you enable uploads.
Installation directory: /var/www/html/wiki
Script URI path: /wiki
Connected as root (automatic)
Connected to database... 3.23.58
Created database wikidb
Creating tables... done.
Initializing data...
Granting user permissions... Sorry! The wiki is experiencing some
technical difficulties, and cannot contact the database server.
