Subject says it all.
Currently (MediaWiki 1.3 beta 3) DIV is an allowed HTML tag, but SPAN is not allowed.
Adding "span" to line 1528 of
Parser.php allows the end user to do things like:
<span class="reptile"> some text </span>
- assuming, of course, that someone with access to the css has defined class
"reptile" already. Seems to work just fine.
Is this unsafe? Or something I can do happily?
I believe it is completely safe, but it is deprecated on Wikipedia
proper because they prefer people doing stuff with wiki markup.
