Thanx for rendering me with a reply......
but i cant possibly think how is it possible to manage a database of
such huge magnitude without having the articles categorized into
certain specialized fields.????
there must be some way for sure to group articles of similar
interest......same fields say all articles on "Biology" or "
Astronomy".....grouped someway logically ........
Rameez, you'll find (not necessarily complete) lists at such pages as:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_biology_topics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_astronomical_topics
The page database is simply a dynamic link graph; you can create any
"category" you wish simply by making a list of the pages which you wish
to include in it. It's also possible to follow the links in reverse
with the "What links here" function, however due to some bugs that have
corrupted updates to the link database this may produce odd results at
times. We'll be regenerating the link tables once we've stamped out the
remaining bugs.
Although there are plans to introduce special categorization features,
they would work in essentially the same way, just defining a notion of
special-purpose category definition pages as a more formalized way of
making a list of (backwards) links.
