As far as I can tell it's not possible to force a reload of these cached
images (for overwrites and deletions), at least not with Safari 1.2. This
is something of a problem; either we need to be explicitly purging them,
or we need sensible cache settings.
Yesterday there was an image that wasn't deleted properly at all (not from
the DB, not from NFS), of course shift-reloading didn't help here. The
Expire for images doesn't influence shift-reload/ ctrl-reload purging.
Automatically purging the different image sizes isn't that easy, but might
be possible (they must be deleted somehow anyway, and at that stage we
know the file names to purge). Currently only the image page is purged,
not the image itself.
I'll try to take a look at it tonight.
