Timwi-
Hi,
since nobody answered my question, I went forward and
committed my
change (that removes self-links and displays the link's text in bold
instead), but I have no real idea what branch I committed it to.
You committed to HEAD (default branch), which is the unstable branch. It's
all good. Our branch setup is very very simple. Unless you specify the
stable branch with -r stable, you are using the unstable one. And you
shouldn't really be messing with the stable branch anyway unless you're
committing security fixes or preparing a new stable release. For users we
provide tarballs whenever there's a new stable release.
So for most people, most of the time, knowing nothing about branches is
perfectly OK.

And if you really want to know how this branching stuff works, take a few
minutes of time and read this:

It's really all much simpler than it sounds.
Regards,
Erik
