BTW, Wikipedia is unuseable since about two hours,
but you all know
that.
??? I don't. Works fine for me, both on Larousse and Pliny.
Hmm, the server didn't respond many times (more than usual), and I had
to wait for ages for the other pages. Maybe a provider problem, but I
had the impression others had the same problems after looking at the
German RecentChanges. English Wikipedia was also slow to me, but I
didn't look at rc.
The version
running on test.wiki has some performance tweaks that should help, as soon
as that's properly tested it will go live on all wikis.
Great!
I still think we
should disable all sysop queries because there have been runaway queries
several times that bogged the wiki down for hours. Maybe I should just do
it while Brion is away :)
Meinen Segen hast Du.
("you got my blessings", proper English translation?)
Or could we
host one of the bigger wikis at ibiblio until we have
another server (which will be very very soon, of course, but you never
know ...)
I don't think it's as urgent as you say -- since Brion turned the fulltext
search off on en:, I had pretty decent speed whenever I used wiki.
Hmm, I had much of variation the last days. And I wouldn't want to miss
the fulltext search on the German 'pedia. This should only be an interim
solution.
