Actually I'm wondering if there wasn't a bit of mis-communication, as
I said we were expecting 400 delegates and 100 media. I was told
Reynolds was the only place that could handle *500* - but if we're
willing to consider LTs that only seat *400*, ie not let journalists
into the keynotes :-), then Roscoe (474) and Crawford (394) become
viable options.
However I think we have to bear in mind the cost - we're looking at
£60-70 per person per day at Manchester, while Cardiff was less than
half that. (But Cardiff had some issues that may well rule it out. If
anyone lives nearby and could check it out...)
We also need to investigate *exactly* what the transport links are
like - what trans-Atlantic and budget airlines fly from their
respective airports etc.
(This is quite complicated, isn't it??)
We could, of course, submit two bids - one cheap and OK and the other
a bit pricier but fantastic.
Anyway I'll keep chasing and who knows, Brum and Reading might through
up something interesting too.
