In any case, if we were to do this, we would need a bot to go through
and substitute the massively-used shorthand templates: {{tl}},
{{user}}, {{vandal}}, {{admin}}, etc.
Some of those are convenient. For example, on [[WP:LA]], if the
admin2 template were substituted, and later changed, someone would
have to go through and change every listing by hand.
