Looks like it's going to be a collection of lots of works with varying
licenses, a good alternative to a collection of information from a
bunch of people who have no business writing an encyclopedia.
From the FAQ: "Many of the Digital Universe
activities, such as
Explore, Inform, and Contribute will be free to the public.
Premium
services may be offered in the future to access content with protected
intellectual property."
