[WikiEN-l] Experimenting with "anon editors" - a new proposal - require comment

OK, here's another idea for an experiment to reduce vandalism and make
edit patrolling easier - require users that aren't logged in to enter
something into the comment field. Encourage these editors in text
next to the comment field to describe their change and explain where
they got the information from. Tell them that unverifiable
information will be deleted.

Sure, some will put "blah" in there or some other nonsense, but
that'll show up in recent changes and it'll draw attention. Some will
outright lie about what they're doing (putting "fix spelling" when
they're really deleting text or whatever), but this will be obvious to
anyone viewing the diff. It won't stop vandalism, but it'll make it
easier to detect.

Feel free to comment on this experiment proposal.
