[Mediawiki-l] Advice on building a site in 2 or more languages

Hello

I have been asked to build a web site in two languages and I would
like to use mediawiki if possible.

What is the best route to have the navigation in the different
languages?  The options I can see are:

1) Run two separate wikis (requires 2 databases and separate logins)

2) Run two wiki code bases, both pointing at the same database
with only differences in LocalSettings being the URL references for
the navigation. Add suffix of :Lang1 and :Lang2 to the page names
(will pointing two wikis at the same database cause problems?)

3) Something else?
