Just to correct a common misconception: 
There is no browser (that I know of) for which Ctrl-R is the shortcut
for a hard refresh; it's commonly used for a *normal* refresh, but it
*will not* bypass your cache in any major browser I've encountered.
(The correct shortcut in Mozilla & co, which you may have been
thinking of, is Ctrl-Shift-R)
