I served on last year's elections committee and found it a good experience
in which I was able to learn a lot about the workings of Meta and meet some
fine Wikimedians, as well as contribute some of my expertise.

I do not plan to seek appointment to the elections committee this year
because of the time commitment I am now making to the English Wikipedia
Arbitration Committee, but would be very glad to comment on any specific
issues or questions that may come up or to review drafts of documents when
they are available.

I strongly reiterate my advice that the members of this year's committee
should be appointed as soon as possible to avoid the epidemic of
"last-minute-itis" that characterized last year's procedures and which
limited our flexibility in decision-making and our ability to consult the
community.
