It supports Armenian, Georgian, Kannada and Bengali. It supports Japanese
when it is spelt out in hiragana or katakana, and it supports Korean when
spelt out in hangul. See their online demo:

The point is that it's better than nothing.
Japanese and Korean users could be prompted to spell out their name in
their native alphabet, and this may well be easier for them than manual
romanization.
It supports custom rule sets, and Wikipedians may some day submit such a
rule set that can transliterate Japanese and Korean names.
