Ok, I guess this might be complicated.  
Last year it came from webalizer stats:  
  http://wikimedia.org/stats/en.wikipedia.org/url_200405.html
  http://wikimedia.org/stats/en.wikipedia.org/url_200406.html 
  http://wikimedia.org/stats/meta.wikipedia.org/url_200406.html

Which may not have been quite accurate then, and which we don't 
try to duplicate now at all.
