Something seems to have gone wrong with the archive at
<http://mail.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikien-l/2005-August/
date.html#67>. It's as if all the messages have lost the first few
lines. I don't know if it's affecting the mailing list, as I only read
via the archive.
The list archive was recently rebuilt; this seems to affect some old
messages only, which have been listed for some reason on the current
month with various bits missing.
I'm not really sure what's wrong with it; they look ok in the backend file.
Poking more I figured it out: a bug in GNU Mailman a couple years ago
failed to properly store lines beginning with "From ". When the archive
pages got rebuilt, the messages containing such lines would get cut off
and the leftover bits, missing a date header, got inserted into the
current month.
I've fixed up those old entries now so they should be complete. In order
to avoid breaking the archive numbering however I've had to insert empty
placeholder messages; they'll show up in place of the broken half-entries.
