After fixing some bugs in /test/run-test, it now works. There are 7 PHPUnit tests in /tests/. 4 pass and 3 have various failures. I am working on LocalFileTest.php. It returns:
There was 1 failure:
1) testGetThumbVirtualUrl(LocalFileTest)
Failed asserting that two strings are equal.
expected string <mwrepo://test/public/thumb/Test%21>
difference < xxxxxxxxxxxxx???????>
got string <mwrepo://test/thumb/Test%21>
This problem arises in the function getThumbVirtualUrl() in /phase3/includes/filerepo/File.php in the statement:
$path = $this->repo->getVirtualUrl() . '/thumb/' . $this->getUrlRel();
Obviously, the function is coded to return something different than the test expects. The problem is, I don't know if this is a bug in the test or in the code.
I have read the README file in the /filerepo/ directory and searched Bugzilla for getThumbVirtualUrl(). The former didn't help with this problem and the latter returned nothing.
Correcting this problem is easy. Either change what the test expects or change the function to return what the test expects. I strongly suspect the correct action is the former, but I have no idea what the code in /filerepo/ does. So, I wonder if somewhat might either confirm or deny my strong suspicion? [Since Tim Starling wrote the README file, perhaps he might comment]
I had to kick myself onto this list, somehow I was not on it....
So I cannot reply directly to the site request email, thus this new thread.
I will look at the lists bugs and either get to them today or tomorrow
if I can.
I do understand the frustration level inherent in bugzilla tickets
getting older and not being completed. Rest assured that it is not on
purpose, we just have a limited bandwidth of folks who can do this sort
of thing. Primarily I take care of the normal site requests, but they
are far from my only responsibility.
I do apologize that some of them have waited this long, I will do my
best to get to them. It was mentioned that this must be an attention
issue, not a resource issue. Unfortunately, I feel it is both. We are
working on improving the process for site requests, but it is not all
procedure, it is a lot of resource as well.
However, I will get to these, and other bugs as quickly as I can. I am
sorry if the delay hurts folks, it is not intentional!
Best regards,

Hello,
I'm sure this question has already been asked, but I can't find the answer.
I checked and my password is transmitted in clear text when I connect to my
Wikipedia account.
As an admin on a project, I feel very guilty to connect to my account on an
unsecured public wifi : I'm afraid my password is caught one day or another.
I checked secure wikipedia but I could not find my project (fr.wikipedia.org
).
Is there a solution, except avoiding such unsecure networks?
Thanks! Plyd
Hi all,
It's been almost a month since the last post in this 'flagged revisions'
thread (sincere apologies if I've failed to find discussion which has no
doubt been occurring on lists and wikis everywhere!) - I wanted to ask for
an update from the folk at the coalface working on getting flagged revisions
ready for the english wikipedia.
There's a growing perception over at the english wiki that there is
technical programming work still outstanding in order for the flagged
revisions extension to be enabled - this is somewhat at odds with my
previous understanding that in fact, the code was ready. I think it is
becoming rather important for us to be very clear about the status quo.
(for example see jimbo's comments;
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Advisory_Council_on_Pro…
ensuing discussion about whether or not more programmers would be
helpful :-)
It would be great from my perspective to answer the following questions;
- Who will 'make the call' to switch flagged revisions on for the english
wikipedia - Brion? another developer? foundation staff?
- Is there any more technical programming outstanding to complete the
extension?
- Does the team / person responsible for completing this work feel
adequetely resourced? - is there any more the community or foundation can do
to expedite?
If foundation staff, and not the technical team, are delaying the activation
of this extention, perhaps for PR reasons to co-incide WIkimania and Flagged
Revisions, then to a degree I understand - I do however feel that the
english community would appreciate this information - in many ways it's a
volatile time amongst the en editors ('ain't it always!), so openess and
transparency become even more important!
best regards,
Peter,
