According to our tip line at The Wikipedia Signpost, the Russian
Wikipedia has some kind of notice on their front page, apparently about
winning some kind of honor for the Russian-language Web. If so,
congratulations! Anybody who reads Russian or knows something more about
this?

New static HTML dumps of Wikipedia have been made, they are linked from:
http://static.wikipedia.org/
There are compressed archives of the HTML available for download for all
languages *except* English. Apparently p7zip leaks memory and eventually
crashes when it tries to compress it, but hopefully I'll have something
sorted out in the next few days.
There is no image snapshot this time around due to disk space constraints.
Most of the images on the English Wikipedia main page are now broken because
they were deleted shortly after they were featured.
