I remember when my posts took days to get on to
wikien-l. Now I've got
my moderated flag dropped too :) Shouldn't there be a page on en:wp or
meta where people can request their moderate flag on a mailing list to
be dropped?
Another page to look at isn't going to make us more efficient ... it's
gathering the strength to look at the mod page.
<PhilSandifer> You didn't tell me Wiki-EN got the most fucked up penis spam
ever.
<PhilSandifer> I now have a word file just of terrifying penis spam.
<PhilSandifer> I blame you!
<PhilSandifer> YOU MADE ME READ THE SENTENCE "After you cum with Spermamax she
will be looking for her underwear one hour in the ocean of your
sperm."
And from memory, wikipedia-l doesn't
auto-moderate.
We were originally unmoderated, then the spam got too awful so we made
it members-only, then we got persistent trolls from hell who morphed
to stay on the list, so we made it moderated-for-first-post. And it's
the official sewer for en: anyway, so keeping the discussion high
quality is harder work than it looks.
Thankfully it's been of remarkably high standard of late. I'm tempted
to switch off the mod-for-first-post and see if we drown in crap
again, since it's making a bit much trouble for good posters. I think
I'll go do that, actually.
