I think it's a good idea. :-) I've cleaned up that page a bit, and I
hope it's going to be used.
However, there are a number of things you can do to make it easier for
you. You seem to already be aware that the mailing lists are available
through NNTP. Most newsgroup readers allow you to ignore a thread. The
problem with a page like the one you're suggesting is that there will be
clashes with what people think is "important" enough that "everyone"
should read it; with a newsreader, I can ignore the threads that don't
interest me, and I don't have to let anyone else know :-)
(Of course, it would be nice if people would stop using broken software
that completely breaks threading, but it's at least something...)
