While you are talking about the 1000th FP and lots of
nice commons projects
I'd like to make some PR for fairly young project which has been going
remarkably well.
At [[Commons:Quality Images]] useres can nominate and ''quickly'' assess
images according to a fairly well defined set of technical standards. The
process is geared towards speed with minimal administrative overhead. No
votes, just one briefly explained assessment (disputes are rare and handled
seperately).
Hear hear. The success of QI is self-evident: look how many people
have been able to use it. I think it's a really excellent project and
a great way to get new people interested in Commons. It's a much
gentler introduction than FP and, you know, a feel-good thing.
Win-win. :)
Actually if the QI count is already up to 1163 then we already missed
a milestone! So congrats to all the QI people.
We should probably promote it more when we try to improve ties with
specific projects.
I made some prep notes for POTY07:

One of the categories I think we should have is 'Encouragement Award'
(QI category - only QIs that are not FPs are eligible). But since
there are so many maybe the QI people have ideas about more
categories. Please comment on the mailing list or the wiki page.
cheers
