That is great. I processed them all:

1.       Fixed few license templates so they use one of the Style_formatting_templates and by that transclude Template:License_template_tag

2.       Added Category:Media_without_a_license:_needs_history_check to the rest

3.       Verified that all files in that category are missing both “license” and “no license” templates

Magnus, if the query has failed to complete, than maybe we can get it in smaller chunks. Now that I added Category:Media_without_a_license:_needs_history_check to the files returned so far they should not be returned again. We can probably also add limit of one or two thousand to SQL query. (By the way that is something I always wished CatScan2 had).

I imagine that once we go through it once it should be easier, and it would be great is eventually this query was added to the Database_reports .

BTW, out of curiosity can you send me SQL for the query. I assume you run it on the toolserver. Will this be something that can be run eventually on Wikimedia Labs?

Thanks again

Query has repeatedly failed to complete. What I have is here:

Thanks. I guess queries looking for images NOT having some template, category, etc. are usually slower. I was running that query within individual categories using CatScan2 and most of the time the query timed out, got disconnected, or did not succeeded for some other reason.

I'm running it on the toolserver now. Very slow going.

Hello everybody,

For last month I am trying to find someone that can run a database query for me.  I asked about it at https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/DBQ-201 and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump#Search_for_old_files_with_no_licenses but so far there are no responses.

The purpose of the query would be to find images with no licenses and in the simplest case the query would be just for images that do not transclude {{License template tag}}. In practice I would also like to exclude images already tagged as no license and exclude images that transclude a Layout template but were not updated correctly by the database. So a better query would be images without any of the below templates:

License template tag
PD-Layout
GNU-Layout
CC-Layout
no license
Delete
Speedydelete

You can see images that met this query at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Media_without_a_license:_needs_history_check . Can anybody help me out with this?
